Abacus Supervisor

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and driven individual as a Supervisor to lead our team of Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Teachers. You will play a pivotal role in guiding and mentoring our team of teachers as well as introducing young children to the world of mathematics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct on site class observation and submit reports on the teacher’s performance

• Read, analyse and follow up on class progress report

• Read and help to improve on lesson plans

• Plan and develop new teaching materials & lesson plan

• Take part in curriculum planning and development

• Provide guidance and work closely with the field supervision team

• Foster good relationship with all our stakeholders

• Conduct training and workshops for our teachers

• Conduct Abacus and Mental Arithmetic lessons

• Create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that encourages exploration and curiosity.

• Foster a love for numbers and mathematics by making learning fun and relatable.

• Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.

• Promote good classroom behaviour and ensure a safe and inclusive learning atmosphere.

• Collaborate with fellow educators and parents to support children's holistic development.

Job Requirements:

• Strong classroom management skills, with prior preschool teaching experience considered a significant advantage.

• Organized, patient, and dedicated to the educational growth of young learners.

• Minimum of 5 years of teaching Abacus and Mental Arithmetic.

• Willingness to commit to a minimum of 36 months to provide consistency in the children's learning experience.

• Minimum educational qualifications of GCE 'A' Level or equivalent / Diploma.

• Required to travel to different centres and preschools around the island.

Training: Training is provided to enhance your teaching skills and to ensure you are well-prepared to create an exceptional learning environment for our students.

Working Days and Time:

Weekdays between 9:00 am to 9:00 pm and Saturdays from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm (5.5 days).

Location: Hougang, West Coast, or Katong.
