Responsibilities:

1. Provide underwriting support across all lines of treaty business

  • Analysis of statistics
  • Understanding of slip wordings
  • Data processing

2. Extract key observations in reports and conduct basic research

  • Basic understanding of business intelligence tools will be an advantage

3. Assist in compiling reports

  • Underwriting reports such as reinsured and insurer statistics by underwriting year

4. Ad-hoc projects, as and when assigned


The underwriting assistant will be assigned under one Senior Underwriter as their mentor focusing on underwriting treaty.


Requirements:

  • Degree (majoring in either Actuarial Science, Finance, Maths or Engineering)
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel, Powerpoint and Word
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency of languages may be an advantage
