TheSchool of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at the Collegeof Science of NTU offer multidisciplinary academic programs thatprovide students with a wide-ranging and up-to-date education. Weoffer undergraduate training leading to BSc (Hons) and graduatetraining leading to MSc and PhD degrees.
Weinvite applications for a position of Associate Professorof Practice. The role involves leading industry-relatedresearch and teaching in the field of mathematical sciences. Theappointee will be expected to teach and provide contributions topractice, such as consultancy and applied research, within thebroad domain of information theory and cryptography, particularlypost-quantum cryptography. Candidates with portfolios ofindustry-specific contributions or works and projects that exploitopportunities for interaction across disciplines in mathematics andcomputer science and engineering are especially welcome toapply.
The candidates are expectedto:
- Enhance theCollege's visibility as an international leader in education,research, and industry collaboration.
- Deliverengaging and effective teaching to both undergraduate and graduatestudents.
- Secure funding from competitivegrants and industry partnerships.
- Mentor andsupervise students and researchers.
- Collaboratewith interdisciplinary teams within the university and withexternal partners to design and help develop commercially viableproducts and services.
- Undertake essentialadministrative responsibilities within theSchool.
Requirements:
- PhDin mathematical sciences or a relatedsubject.
- A good track record of supervisingstudents, researchers, postdocs, andinterns.
- Experienced in cross-disciplinaryresearch initiatives andcollaboration.
- Demonstrated excellence inresearch, evidenced by a strong publication record in reputablepeer-reviewed international journals andconferences.
- Proven track record in research,design, development, certification, and implementation ofenterprise-grade products and services.
- Provenability to secure applied research funding or commercialinvestments.
