Our SRE engineers combine software andsystems engineering disciplines to run high-performance,large-scale distributed infrastructure. This means you will bedeeply involved in the developmental lifecycle of critical softwareservices, collaborating closely with product engineers to combinesoftware code and systems knowledge to ensure that TikToke-Commerce's services are reliable, fault-tolerant, efficientlyscalable and cost-effective. You will also be leveraging yoursoftware engineering expertise to develop software platforms andtools to optimise the operational and engineering efficiencies ofcomplex systems at scale, with particular focus on improving thesystems' observability, performance andmaintainability.

Responsibilities

-Be responsible for service levels of mission critical,revenue-generating e-Commerce platform as well as all supportinginfrastructure and services. This role will focus on servicereliability, highly-scalable design, and release management in acloud-native environment.

- Define service levelindicators and data-driven objectives, and develop SRE standards,processes and methodologies, to uphold and improve uptime, latency,and system health of a core global e-commerce productionplatform.

- Collaborate cross-team withengineering and product to ensure that key stability andmaintainability requirements, such as capacity planning and launchreviews, are performed to enable transparent service delivery tocustomers.

- Design strategies for riskdetection and mitigation, disaster recovery & simulation,release management, cost optimisation, engineering qualityetc.

- Automation geared towardsinfrastructure-as-code, scalability and serviceresiliency.

- Implement best practices aroundincident management, post-mortems while being part of on-callrotations.

- Research, design, and developcomputer and network software or specialised utility programs.

- Analyse user needs and develop softwaresolutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science,engineering, and mathematical analysis.

-Update software, enhances existing software capabilities, anddevelops and direct software testing and validation procedures.

Qualifications

-Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, InformationTechnology, Programming & System Analysis, Science (ComputerStudies) or related discipline.

- Proficiency inLinux operating system internals, networking and microservices incloud-native environments.

- Experience indesigning, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributedsystems.

- Experience developing platform/toolsusing scripting languages such as Python/Bash.

-Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effectivecommunication skills and a sense of drive.

-Experience with running production-grade web services at scale in acloud native environment.

- Experience withimplementing observability solutions such as monitoring, loggingand tracing in complex service meshes.
