Summary

As a IT Cybersecurity Specialist at the GS-2210-14, you will be part of CIO IT Security Management, Office of Personnel Management your role involves providing expertise in Cybersecurity and Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) Capability, threat intelligence, threat hunting, penetration testing, vulnerability management best practices, and integrating Artificial Intelligence and automation in the incident response lifecycle.

If the answers to these questions is an excited "yes," then consider applying to join the OPM Cyber Team Employs expert knowledge of Federal and private industry incident response best practices to implement network monitoring and response. Uses expert knowledge of threat hunting, threat intelligence, penetration testing, and vulnerability management to design and ensure OPM wide best practice models. Provides verbal updates and briefings to OPM technical and executive leadership, as needed. Plans, develops, and advises OPM technical and executive leadership on security and network operations and courses of action. Develops Concept of Operations (ConOps) policies, procedures, plans, strategies, and other written material to advance OPM's cybersecurity and network monitoring program. Coordinates with OCIO functional areas to foster partnership and seamless communication. Leads other units to review, develop, and ensure incident and network response plans are intertwined into each system. Integrates threat intelligence into the incident response lifecycle. Partners with OPM Security Engineering, Information System Security Officers, Network Operations, Server Operations, and other CIO functional areas to ensure the program has appropriate visibility and analytics to detect and respond to threats and risks. As OPM's Enterprise Operations Center subject matter expert, aligns processes and tools usage. Leads tabletop exercises and functional incident response tests for OPM's systems and applications. Creates, reviews, and ensures daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly reporting is delivered on time and to quality standards. Supports OPM audit response requirements. Trains personnel on incident response roles and responsibilities, threat hunting, and threat intelligence collection. Leverages Agile project management to manage Enterprise Operation Center tasks and projects. Leads penetration tests and investigations for OPM's systems and applications. Trains personnel on data protection roles and responsibilities, to include the use of AI, Machine Learning, automation, and advanced statistical methodologies for proactive threat hunting and the identification of emerging attack vectors, enhancing overall threat intelligence capabilities within the cybersecurity team. Serves as Incident Commander during incident response activation. Leads interagency teams and committees to maintain Federal policy awareness and provide support on behalf of OPM. Identifies a range of key outcomes with adopting certain approaches to resolving vital and critical program management issues. Identifies and resolves cybersecurity problems which are characterized by their breadth, importance, and severity, and for which current and previous techniques are inadequate. Ensures compliance with laws, regulations, policies, standards, and procedures.
