Roles & Responsibilities

Job Description - Senior Counsellor and Play Therapist

Alliance Counselling is seeking a Senior Counsellor and Play Therapist to join our established team and fulfill an important role in providing the highest quality of service to our clients and supporting the effective growth and development of the clinic and its staff.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct consultations
  • Conduct psychological intake assessments
  • Develop and deliver treatment/intervention plans
  • Collaborate with schools and/or other professionals in providing a holistic approach to assessment and treatment
  • Provide supervision to other practitioners
  • Prepare reports based on assessment and/or treatment progress
  • Work with family members and conduct family sessions
  • Maintain proper case records and progress records
  • Ensure services are planned and conducted within the guidelines of professional standards and ethics
  • Develop mental health-related training and educational material
  • Conduct mental health-related talks and training

Requirements

  • More than 15 years of relevant clinical experience
  • Previous experience in an international school setting
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Practice-Based Play Therapy from a recognized institution
  • Demonstrable experience in Private Therapy & Primary Care
  • Specialisation in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), including experience of delivering these treatment modalities on an individual and group basis
  • Trauma-informed therapist with specialized experience working with the LGBTQI+ community
  • Experience with the development of programs for specialist cases
  • Experience with the management of group therapy programmes
  • Experience with the supervision of counsellors and other practitioners
  • Clinical experience with children and adolescents is essential
  • Advanced Level NOVA trained crisis responder
