RESPONSIBILITIES

The RA will work with the Director to promote the Institute's research, branding, and outreach-related initiatives. The job scope involves:

  • Compiling databases of existing reports and other supporting materials, identifying and approaching potential interviewees, conducting interviews alongside the Director, transcribing interviews, and developing the report.
  • Conducting literature reviews, developing sampling networks, and interview transcription. An ability to conduct bibliometric analyses is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Organising events (lectures, workshops and seminars), arranging meetings with Pillar Leads and Urban Fellows, taking minutes and other ad hoc tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • The Research Assistant (RA) position requires a Bachelor's degree in a social science discipline, ideally with a focus on/major in urban studies or a related field.
  • The successful applicant will ideally have:
    • Some experience conducting qualitative research, preferably amongst senior stakeholders.
    • Excellent writing and communication skills.
    • Be organised, detail-oriented and motivated to learn.
    • A demonstrated interest in issues related to cities, urban transformation, and Southeast Asia.
