[What the role is]
As an Aquaculture Technology Project Engineer at the Center for Aquaculture Diagnostics and Vaccines (CADV), you will play a pivotal role in advancing our aquaculture operations through the integration and optimization of cutting-edge automation and digital technologies. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing technology solutions that increase efficiency, productivity, and sustainability in our aquaculture systems.

[What you will be working on]

• Automation Systems Development: Design and implement automation systems for feeding, environmental monitoring, and health assessments to enhance the efficiency of aquaculture operations.
• Digital Transformation: Lead initiatives to digitalize aquaculture operations, including the deployment of IoT devices, sensors, and software solutions for real-time data analysis and decision-making.
• Data Analytics: Utilize data analytics and machine learning algorithms to optimize feeding strategies, growth conditions, and health management protocols.
• Innovation and Research: Stay abreast of the latest trends in aquaculture technology, evaluating and testing new tools and techniques for potential application within our operations.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the aquaculture team, IT department, and external industry partners to ensure seamless integration and alignment of technology solutions with business objectives.
• Training and Support: Provide technical training and support to aquaculture staff on new technologies and systems, ensuring high adoption and operational efficiency.

[What we are looking for]

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in aquaculture operations, with a strong focus on automation and digital technologies.
• Proficiency in data analytics, IoT, and machine learning applications in aquaculture or related fields.
• Excellent project management skills, with a proven ability to lead technology integration projects from conception to implementation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Innovative thinker with a passion for sustainability and efficiency in aquaculture.
• Familiarity with software development, preferably in Python or R, for custom analytics solutions.
• Experience with remote sensing technologies and their application in monitoring aquatic environments.
