Roles & Responsibilities

As part of the Strengthening Families Programme at Family Service Center (FAM@FSC), the PS team is looking for psychologists to provide psychological services to families in distress. The FAM@FSC programme aims to support families and couples who may face greater challenges in their relationships. There are 10 FAM@FSC regional centres. You will be part of a team of psychologists who will provide psychological services to these 10 centres or a psychologist dedicated to one of the centres.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychological assessment and therapy to individuals, both children and adults, who may be experiencing emotional distress and with mental health concerns arising from marital, parenting or family issues
  • Provide psychological assessment and therapy to help couples, families and individuals to resolve conflict and improve their relationships
  • Provide assessment and therapy to children and adolescents with emotional and behavioural needs
  • Consult, implement and support programme evaluate efforts.
  • Perform administrative duties relevant to clinical practice


Requirements

1. Educational qualifications and work experience

  • A recognised Masters’ degree in Psychology (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology) from an accredited university. The programme must include a supervised practicum and supervised training in psychological assessments
  • Be eligible for registration with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) (Full Membership) and Singapore Register of Psychologists (SRP) registration

2. Experience

  • (Preferred) 3 years of relevant experience working with families
  • (Preferred) Familiarity or prior working experience in the social services sector

3. Other qualities

  • Resilient and passionate to individual and family work in the community
  • Energised with new set ups and forging of new partnerships
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Fluency in local languages
