Network Capacity Planning Senior Data Analyst (Hybrid)

We are looking for a skilled network data analyst to join our Network Observability team. In this role, you will play a key part in implementing our network capacity planning strategy and adhering to best practices. Reporting to the Network Capacity Planning Product Manager, your primary task will involve collecting data from monitoring tools and system logs, analyzing it to make informed decisions on the enterprise network's capacity and performance.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with demand management, network teams, and business units to grasp current and future network requirements for capacity planning aligning with business objectives.
  • Perform a thorough analysis of network traffic, utilization rates, and performance metrics utilizing predictive analysis to pinpoint bottlenecks and improvement areas. Take into account historical data and anticipated growth for scalability needs.
  • Collaborate with network engineers and implementation teams to strategize hardware upgrades or enhancements to network infrastructure components.
  • Deliver regular reports to management and stakeholders, including KPIs, utilization metrics, and suggestions for optimizing network capacity.
  • Recognize and address potential risks associated with capacity failures, network congestion, and enforce measures to reduce performance degradation and outages.
  • Engage in cross-functional initiatives, working with project teams to integrate capacity planning requirements into project plans and timelines.

  • Skill in coordinating tasks with others for timely completion and to prevent setbacks.
  • Aptitude for articulating complex and technical concepts accurately and clearly.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution or equivalent corporate work experience
  • Over 4 years of experience supporting extensive corporate/enterprise networks. LAN, WAN, Wireless, Cloud Networking
  • 2 years of specific experience in analytics
  • Experience with one or more network monitoring, reporting, and observability tools: SevOne, ThousandEyes, Moogsoft, NetBrain, ELK.
  • Experience with NOC and enterprise/corporate network monitoring
  • Familiarity with IT service management, ITIL certification is advantageous.
