Singapore Milken Institute Full time

The Business & Program Development team offers students (Bachelor's or Master's) pursuing a career in investment banking, private banking, or asset management unique exposure to the key players in the investment management and banking landscape of the Asia-Pacific region.

Working closely with the Director of Business and Program Development, the Business Development Intern will focus on engaging current strategic partners, developing new partnerships, and expanding audiences around our series of events including the Asia Summit and the Global Conference. In particular, the Asia Summit presents a tremendous opportunity to join the team organizing this exclusive, invitation-only event that will gather over 1,000 high-profile executives, influential investors, heads of sovereign wealth funds, and philanthropists from around the world.

About the Singapore Internship Program

The Milken Institute's Singapore Internship Program, in partnership with Partners Group, aims to cultivate the next generation of leaders who are equipped to tackle the issues that shape the global agenda as they enter the financial, investment, corporate, multilateral, or philanthropic sectors. We create a customized experience for each intern, which is tailored to their interest area and career trajectory as well as emphasizes their professional and personal development. This experience includes opportunities to:

  • Interact with high-level business leaders, ambassadors, business leaders, and academic experts
  • Meet and work with the Milken Institute's global network of senior executives
  • Learn from senior leaders at the Milken Institute and Partners Group
  • Gain insights into the workings of global financial markets through dedicated workshops
  • Network with an international and diverse group of peers and professionals

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and analysis of key players in the financial services (banks, asset managers, institutional investors), family business, and philanthropic communities
  • Develop strategic outreach plans
  • Attend client meetings and produce post-meeting reports
  • Create sponsorship proposals for potential partners
  • Coordinate the management of the CRM database and invitation mailings with the Los Angeles office
  • Market Intelligence Reporting: Regularly update the team with pertinent market news and trends

Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Demonstrates a keen interest and aptitude in financial services, business development, and global markets
  • Exhibits research, analytical, and communication skills
  • Capable of both collaborative and independent work
  • Committed to professional growth and learning in a challenging environment
  • Able to work in a dynamic team environment
  • Native Mandarin and Japanese speakers are preferred but not necessary

Internship Duration

We offer 4 to 12-month internships with flexibility on the dates. We have a strong preference for interns who can stay through completion of the Asia Summit, until the end of September 2024. In the event of COVID-19 restrictions, we expect interns to be able to work fully remotely as needed, and join team meetings and other calls virtually.
