Responsibilities

  • Sushi Chef is responsible in Creating a rich sushi menu with various main ingredients and raw fish (e.g., salmon, tuna). Handles a wide range of raw fish and other ingredients, managing food stock and working with attention to detail to fulfill all orders within quality standards. To be successful in this role, you should have experience with Japanese cuisine.

Duties

  • Prepare all types of sushi, including maki, nigiri and sashimi
  • Create a rich sushi menu with various main ingredients and raw fish (for example, salmon, tuna, unagi)
  • Check quality and freshness of Ingredients
  • Prepare appetizers, soups and salads that are close to the philosophy of Japanese cuisine
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and utensils
  • Reporting to a head chef

Qualifications Required

  • Work experience as a Sushi Chef or at an Asian restaurant
  • Good knowledge of various sushi types and sushi-rolling techniques
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
  • Ability to work as a team, positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment

Additional Requirements

Valid Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
