Job Overview

The Corporate Strategy & Planning team plays a central role in driving AVEVA's growth by developing and guiding the overall direction and success of our organisation. The team's primary purpose is to develop strategies, conduct business analysis for executive decisions, and operationalise mechanisms that help AVEVA to achieve our long-term objectives.

We are looking for a talented data leader to join our dynamic team and play a crucial role in building a data foundation and extracting actionable insights from our finance, sales, and performance data.

The right candidate will have the:

• Consultative approach to dive deeply into ambiguity, then rapidly frame and problem-solve.
• Deep domain expertise and entrepreneurial temperament to roll up the sleeves and build on own – as this is a very lean team with everyone producing their own deliverables.
• Influence to guide senior cross-functional stakeholders for data-driven decisions and to make short- and long-term tradeoff decisions amidst constraints.

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidate will be responsible for hands-on complex data analysis for strategic growth projects, as well as designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports, leveraging their expertise to enhance decision-making processes within AVEVA.

Business Data & Insight Requirements

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet senior management needs.
• Develop a program vision and roadmap that is aligned to business use cases, scalable and innovative.

Data Analysis & Visualization

• Utilize advanced analytics techniques to extract meaningful insights from various data sources, including third party data and in-house systems (ERP, CRM, MS Excel models).
• Design and develop interactive and visually compelling Power BI dashboards and reports for scalable cross-functional use.

Data Integration & Cleansing

• Cleanse and pre-process data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Integrate data from various sources into a unified platform for analysis and publication.
• Build and maintain Python scripts for data manipulation and transformation tasks.

Data Governance, Performance Monitoring & Security:

• Implement data governance best practices to ensure data quality, consistency, and security.
• Monitor data pipelines and model performance for potential issues and implement corrective measures.

Documentation & Training

• Document data analysis processes, methodologies, and data sources.
• Provide training to end-users on how to interpret the utilize Power BI reports.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of proven experience as a Data Engineer, Data Scientist – ideally at a high-tech or software vendor.
• Strategic thinker who can operationalize and be results-oriented in a dynamic, fast-paced setting with a focus on driving business outcomes.
• Expertise in Power BI with a strong portfolio showcasing dashboards and reports; helpful to have experience with Tableau, Data Studio, Splunk, Salesforce.
• Familiarity with the data and metrics that relate to external market sizing and internal customer account structures.
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling techniques and their application to market research.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, tune, improve ML models for optimal performance.
• Highly proficient in Python, R, SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
• Familiarity with data security and compliance standards.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical, cross-functional stakeholders for collaboration.
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Systems, or a related field.
