About the Role:

The Senior Customer Success Technical Architect plays a key role in supporting our enterprise customers by serving as their technical advocate. As the main point of contact for all technical inquiries, you will work closely with various teams at Confluent to ensure your customers achieve success. This position offers you the chance to gain valuable experience with Kafka and the Confluent Platform while collaborating with a diverse range of organizations, from startups to large enterprises. Through this role, you will establish strong customer relationships, uphold high delivery standards, and enjoy contributing to cutting-edge streaming data infrastructure projects alongside industry-leading colleagues.

What You Will Do:

  • Champion customer interests within Confluent, liaising between Sales, Product, Services, Support, and Training teams to drive customer success
  • Deliver regular customer reviews to Confluent senior management
  • Dive into customer issues when needed, collaborating with Support Engineers and Core Engineering
  • Utilize your understanding of customer environments to support Support Engineers and Professional Services teams
  • Influence the development of Confluent products based on customer environments and use cases
  • Conduct operational performance analyses and present reviews to customer leadership
  • Provide in-depth assessments of service disruptions, metrics, and pre-launch planning
  • Educate customers on best practices for utilizing the Confluent platform
  • Recommend proactive measures to prevent issues and ensure customer success

What You Will Bring:

  • Proven experience in Customer Success, Customer Support, or Professional Services for an enterprise-focused company
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Rapid learning capabilities and a keen interest in new technologies
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate complex issues and solutions clearly
  • Proficiency in Java Virtual Machine (JVM) troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience with Linux systems configuration and troubleshooting
  • Strong interpersonal skills from successful B2B infrastructure software projects
  • Project management expertise to coordinate cross-team efforts
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, engineering, mathematics, or related fields
  • Comfort in an agile, fast-paced startup environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail
  • Previous involvement in projects utilizing Apache Kafka with various technologies
  • Background in a technology startup environment
  • Proficiency in Java and distributed systems
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time for customer visits
