Role ResponsibilitiesWork with the engineering team to test and improve critical trading and surveillance software applications.Automate tests using test frameworks and write moderately complex code/scripts to test systems.Responsible for monitoring product engineering with a perspective towards improving product quality.Create test harnesses as necessary to perform testing.Work with the team in requirements grooming to understand the business requirements and test requirements;maintain and update automated test scripts based on agreed acceptance criteria;Help the team build functional and non-functional test scenarios based on user story covering the requirements, cross functional and other aspects of the systems such as load, performance and fault tolerance in BDD – Behavior driven development (Given, When, Then format);Review tests built by other team members for coverage and negative scenarios;Execute and report results of automated and manual tests with the team;Monitor and troubleshoot issues in automated test scripts;Report issues and anomalies in the system in the issue tracking system;Research new QA tools & methodologies and suggest improvements to the team.Provides testing leadershipCritical deliverablesFX Exchange Venue & Applications Modules. FX Product deliverablesThis role is key to delivering the FX Customer Exchange technologies as part of FX Integration and future FX opportunities.
Education and Experience RequiredDegree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent5+ years' experience as a Senior Quality Engineer/SDET (Software Developer Engineer in Test)Understanding of Electronic Trading ecosystem (Equities or FX)Understanding of messaging and network protocolsUnderstanding of Distributed/Event driven systemsUnderstanding of testing using FIX protocolWorking on Linux / UNIX operating systemsExtensive knowledge of databases and query languages for RDBMS/NoSQL/Time Series DBsWriting test automation scripts using Java/Python/C++Experience of working in software delivery methodologies such as Agile/ScrumSupport and evolve CI/CD Platform for continuous testingEnglish Level C1 - High fluency in English with strong communication skills in verbal and written English
Preferred:FX Options knowledgeFIX 5.xRESTWindowsBusiness and sector expertiseExperience in FX industry & regulated environments requiredExperience in broader financial markets preferredLeadership and management experienceExperience in technical thought leadershipUnderstanding of stakeholder managementExperience collaborating with vendors and cross-organizational teamsPersonal skills and capabilitiesDegree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Electronics / Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experienceStrong verbal and written communications with ability to communicate to non-technical partnersAnalytical, Results driven, Innovative, Tenacious, Accountable, Collaborative, Customer Focused
