About the Team:

The Accounting & Closing Life and Health team in Finance Reinsurance has global ownership of L&H sub-ledger related accounting and closing activities covering all valuation bases (i.e. US GAAP, IFRS 17, EVM and Statutory).

About the Role:

We are looking for a hardworking and motivated individual to join the Local IFRS Insights and Technical Valuation Team in Financial Accounting Technical. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with IFRS 17 and be part of the migration of local IFRS from RCP to FPSL which will shape the future financial accounting and reporting operating model.

As a Senior Local IFRS Business Analyst working on the FPSL migration, you will work with a multidisciplinary team consisting of Accounting and Actuarial Business Experts, Information Architect, Business Analysts and Developers. The team will be responsible for the implementation and testing of the FPSL framework for Local IFRS for both LH and PC.

In addition, you will also play a key part in the Local IFRS Deliveries on RCP where you will be responsible for the validation of the runs including a thorough reconciliation of the results within the subledger.

As part of your mandate, you will also act as an advisor on complex transactions to work out how the accounting treatment should be applied from a local/group IFRS point of view.

You will decide and act with a degree of autonomy in practice areas with the delegated authorities.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Support end-to-end integration testing in the new RCP environment for IFRS 17 Local runs
  • Implementation and testing of the business requirements for local IFRS in FPSL
  • Contribute to Local IFRS Deliveries to local teams and support them throughout the delivery process
  • Be a lead for the FPSL Local Migration for APAC
  • Provide technical valuation expertise on complex deals
  • Work closely with other functions, including Risk Management Actuarial, Local Finance, FP&A, IT, etc.
About You:

Technical Skills and Knowledge:
  • FPSL/SAP knowledge including both configuration and testing (J-Unit, Dbeaver)
  • Understanding of and experience working with an economic valuation framework (IFRS 17, MCEV, EVM)
  • Understanding of RCP is a plus
  • Previous experience working in actuarial / finance / IT projects advantageous
  • Previous experience working in reinsurance a plus
