Job Responsibilities:

  • Processing of trade finance transactions
  • Import and/or Export documents checking
  • Highlight discrepancies and red flag items in documents
  • Distribute, check and approve transactions to ensure accuracy and timely to meet customer's service level agreement
  • Deliver a high quality of service to enhance the Bank's reputation and meet customer's expectations.
  • Work in partnership with Relationship Managers, trade product & sales office and as the first point of contact on transaction enquiries and escalate to the manager where required.
  • Work in partnership with external customers to be the first point of contact on transaction enquiries and escalate to the manager where required and promote excellent customer service.
  • Work in partnership with other internal counterparts to share information / feedback in order to resolve issues
  • Ensure the execution of all daily tasks in adherence to Bank/Head Office/Compliance policies and departmental procedures through accurate and timely input.
  • Escalate any unresolved enquiries/issues to the manager.
  • Carry out standard checks on all transactions prior to execution to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Support new members of the team by providing guidance and support on the daily processes and procedures to meet the service level agreement to customers.
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement and support implementation.
  • Maintain good working knowledge of industry trends, products, relevant laws and regulations.
  • Perform any adhoc duties or reports as assigned by manager

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in document checking in Trade Finance Operations
  • Experience in Trade Finance products and its applicable ICC rules in relation to UCP 600. ISBP, Incoterms and antimoney laundering guidelines.
  • Experience in Export, Import documentary trade transactions, handling structured trade transactions
  • Resourceful and able to work effectively as an individual as well as in a team
  • Good understanding of regulatory sanctions requirements
  • Ensure effective management of operational risks within the bank's Global Trade Finance Framework guidelines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to adapt to the challenging needs of the organization and demands of both internal and external stakeholders
  • CDCS certification will be an advantage but not mandatory
