MENCK are currently looking to hire a Sales Manager for our Asia Region on a full time, permanent basis.

Based at their location in Singapore, the Sales Manager is responsible for running the APAC Regional Services Department, with the objective of ensuring that the services and aftersales requirements of all customers in the region are identified and met.

To achieve regional growth in service revenues in line with annual company targets, ensuring that all customer enquiries and issues are answered and dealt with according to service targets.

To lead Business Improvement initiatives, both within the Global Services Team and within the wider group, delivering performance improvements in line with stated objectives.


Duties

  • Heading up the Services team in Asia, including hiring and termination of staff, performance management, development, training, coordination, and scheduling of department personnel; financial budgeting and forecasting
  • Overseeing the regional Services activities, including equipment overhaul and spare parts orders; responding to customer inquiries promptly; underwriting quotations and invoicing of services; accountable for delivery of regional services budget
  • Responsible for developing and managing internal capability via processes and tools to enable effective service delivery inline with internationally recognised quality standards
  • Build and maintain relationships with customer technical teams
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure that Service delivery, timeliness, cost, and quality is aligned with customer expectations and internal requirements
  • Negotiate frame agreements and subscription models with key clients to improve customer satisfaction and predictability of revenues and embed favourable terms and conditions
  • Develop and maintain a process to provide internal and external customers 24hour access to technical expertise to support troubleshooting and technical queries across the product lines
  • Develop strategy for localised aftermarket supply chain to meet specific regional services requirements and ensure it is enacted via the Supply Chain organisation
  • Develop and introduce new aftersales products and service offerings to drive revenue increase in the region
  • Supervision of the financial reporting for all aftersales activities; ensuring that project managers and responsible staff provide accurate and timely feedback to the Finance Department; accountable for debtor management of regional customers
  • Ownership of the local Services processes; responsible for ensuring that these processes meet the demands of the business; introduction of strategic improvements to deliver cost and quality benefits
  • Lead engagements and relationships with senior customer and supply chain representatives in support of project and longerterm business objectives

Requirements:

  • 10 years' experience in similar commercial or technical roles, particularly working with large hydraulic/mechanical systems
  • Experience leading a team across geographies
  • Experience as an operational and strategic leader
  • Experience leading handling customer technical issues in an aftermarket services environment would be an advantage
  • Awareness of Six-Sigma principles, Lean and 5S approach to business leadership
  • Strong business acumen, with a commercial aptitude demonstrating ownership and management of budgets
  • Experience of Business ERP systems (engineering & resource planning)
  • Fluent business English
  • Mandarin Chinese speaking would be an advantage but is not essential
