What is this position about?


Within BNP Paribas Wealth Management, the Account Management team is responsible for the KYC due diligence on clients of the bank for onboarding and recertification of ultra/high net worth Private Banking individuals.

The team plays a critically important role in partnering and supporting Front-Office to open new accounts (which is a business strategic priority) and to manage the client account lifecycle process (account opening, recertification, and closure).


The responsibilities of this role will be focused primarily on ensuring the day-to-day execution of the onboarding of the files within the team.

This needs to be done in strict adherence to the relevant policies and procedures to deliver the KYC files with a high standard of quality.

This role will also assist the Head of the team in executing other ad hoc tasks as required by the head of the team.

The team itself sits within the validation cycle of the KYC file and is required to be in close co-ordination with compliance, relationship managers and other stakeholders across CLM.

The Account Management team is under the COO domain and has a strong link with Clusters / Markets.

What would be your typical day at BNPP Paribas look like?

  • Be the primary interface to stakeholders, advising on onboarding matters, including deficiencies pertaining to KYC information and documents for onboarding.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across various stages on new client onboarding process, i.e., RMs, Team and Market heads, CM (documentation and screening), Compliance and other colleagues to ensure seamless onboarding.
  • Make decisions that are effective and wellgrounded based on guidelines policies and insights and escalate potential risk/issues early on
  • Perform independent review including plausibility checks and corroboration relating to client's source of wealth and source of funds.
  • Engage RMs in SOW discussion and subsequently enhancing and ensuring the quality of KYC/SOW meets standard for onboarding.
  • Document and update into work system the client KYC record with accuracy and high quality, and in a timely manner.

Account Opening / Account Review
Ensure that the onboarding and review requirements are in accordance with Bank's AML/KYC standards and regulatory requirements.


Ensure the relevance and completeness of KYC information (in partnership with the RM) and performs appropriate due diligence checks and information searches.

Review and corroborate KYC information submitted by RM.


Assist RM in completing the Client Acceptance Form, Client profiling in ICE or any relevant inquiries/ tasks as well as related checklists, forms and reports related to the account to allow approval of the account.

Oversight the end-to end account opening/ review process of the account.

Engage appropriately and efficiently with other relevant stakeholders such as Compliance and Client Management if necessary to enable account opening/ review are completed in an efficient and timely manner.


Escalate any red flag/ alerts timely if appropriate and follow up with the RM on client onboarding/client review related matters and for escalated/prioritized cases.


Prepare the required KYC screening list on new/existing clients by documenting and corroborating the information obtained from RM on the client.

Respond to stakeholders' enquiries in a professional and prompt manner; ensure proper follow-up until the enquiries are addressed.

Change Management Support
Prepare reports for management reporting to facilitate relevant reviews and strengthen the control procedures and processes.

Provide feedback and suggestions to relevant stakeholders for process improvement.

Strive for continuous improvement to enhance the efficiencies of the processes in order to meet KPI(s) collectively with different stakeholders.

Communicate to RMs on a need-to-know basis of any changes impacting the Account Management work processes.

Control Aspects
Responsible for the implementation of operational permanent control policies and procedures in day-to-day business activities.

Comply with regulatory requirements and internal guidelines.

Responsible for reporting all incidents in relation to Account Management matters according to the internal policy.

Proficient in English and Chinese

Required education/certification/licenses.
University degree with at least 4-5 years of relevant working experience in the finance and banking industry, preferably in KYC/AML areas, risk, or controls functions
