Responsibilities

  • Consolidate market and liquidity risk information in the APAC region, and enhance both regional and local market and liquidity risk frameworks like RAF, EWI, and Stress testing; also assist in reviewing treasury limits.
  • Implement and conduct training on Counterparty Credit Risk Management for staff, with a focus on collateral management, computation, and monitoring, a new mandate within RMDAP.
  • Execute day-to-day tasks, including preparing meeting materials for department and regional meetings; covering areas such as regulatory & governance issues, new products, and business direction in APAC branches/offices and group entities.
  • Collaborate with relevant Head Office departments to effectively improve business and risk governance in the APAC region.
  • Support the enforcement of Head office/regional rules and management frameworks.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Banking/Business or similar field.
  • Solid understanding of Market Risk Management (trading and banking book), regulatory mandates, and industry best practices.
  • Knowledge of FRTB, IRRBB, ICAAP, stress testing, etc.
  • Proficient in MS Office, skilled in data management tools like VBA; advantageous to have knowledge of Python and Tableau.
  • Fluency in Japanese is essential for this role, as the position may involve preparing reports for the Japanese Financial Services Agency (when needed) and extensive communication with Head Office departments; this includes delivering presentations.
  • Familiarity with Japanese Banking Law is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Japanese and English are a must.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and capable of strategic and tactful decision-making.
  • Able to motivate others; culturally aware and a good team player.
