  • About the Role
  • Reporting to the Manager of Sales you will be part of a team focused on sales position management & value generation for BHP's Iron Ore Term Book, while also leading and/or supporting activities associated with the Iron Ore Marketing Strategy
  • Main Accountabilities:
  • Optimize the value of the iron ore sales book considering our strategic objectives, supply chain capabilities, market opportunities and risks.
  • Supporting the negotiation strategy & tactics for our term renewals incorporating the Iron Ore Marketing strategy and balancing BHP's objectives with customers objectives
  • Manages agreeing and performance of customer contracts to maximize operational and financial outcomes and mitigate exposure to risk.
  • Market development & customer management in new markets, while supporting market development in other regions
  • Translate market views from different stakeholders into a clear view on market direction to drive enhanced commercial decision making and planning.
  • Establish and maintain sustainable relationships with external customers through the Sales Liaison team to develop a clear understanding of strategic, commercial and transactional needs and support the development of opportunities and commercial levers.
  • Identify and assess risk to make risk informed decisions, while building a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
  • Adhere to all relevant external and internal performance standards, Group and Business Level requirements, and statutory legislation. At the same time proposes simplification or improvement ideas to our existing compliance and governance framework proposed and executed, leading Risk Reviews and Field Leadership.


About You
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the iron ore market is highly desirable.
  • Prior experiences in sales / marketing in China commodity markets
  • Experience in a commercial, economic, analytical, technical and/or relevant business discipline
  • Bachelor's degree in a commercial, economic, technical and/or relevant business discipline
  • Fluent English (both verbal and written) and preferably Mandarin
