Responsible for test development and support for new product introductions, legacy test equipment, continuation engineering product changes, and equipment replacement.


Job description:

  • Design new test fixtures and update existing fixture designs for Processors, Communication and Digital/Analog IO products.
  • Mental and visual ability to independently design, develop and implement software using programming languages for production test equipment.
  • Develop and implement strategies and installation of all tests related capital equipment.
  • Responsible for design of electrical circuitry, sizing components and working with vendors to develop test fixtures.
  • Work with communication protocols (USB, Ethernet I/P, DeviceNet and ControlNet), and PLC Input / Output controls.
  • Maintain and track project financials and timelines to meet the project deliverables.
  • Create and release documentation on all aspects of the test solution.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), Electrical Engineering/Computer Science (EE/CS), or equivalent.
  • 3+ years' experience as a test engineer contributor, including design and development of test equipment for production.
  • Experience in developing and implementing software using programming languages or platforms such as C, C++, C#, NI Test Stand, etc.
  • Understanding of electronic circuit schematics and bills of materials (BOM).
  • Able to create, read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma is a plus.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analysis, and problemsolving skills.
