Position Overview:

  • Science Centre Singapore is dedicated to the promotion of interest, learning and creativity in science & technology through imaginative and enjoyable experiences, and to contribute to the nation's development of its human resource.The role will also involve translating initiatives into compelling story ideas with useful messages, elevating awareness of Science Centre's impact among strategically important audiences and collaborate closely with the PR and Marketing, Advancement Office, in addition to the Exhibitions, Event and Engagement programme units in the centre

Essential Job Functions:

  • As a Transmedia Science Writer, you will create content in multiple formats including articles, blog posts, newsletters, social media, videos, hangouts, scripts, copywriting, exhibition panel, etc.

You are required to write clear and concise content with creative narratives for targeted audience on science and technical topics including Transmedia storytelling, especially on 'just-in-time' topics.

You will create messaging and materials to inform, educate, and inspire key audiences; create and execute strategies for distributing Science Centre's content and messaging that increase the centre's value and social engagement.

You are responsible for engaging with our audience directly and encouraging them to spread the word about Science Centre and cultivating relationships with loyal audience, readers and visitors so they become evangelists for Science Centre.

Other duties include conducting interviews and establishing a network of contacts in the industry from media, PR executives, researchers and academia from IHLs and research institutes and collaborating closely with PR and Marketing, and Advancement Office internally and external partners.


Requirements:


He/She should have knowledge and experience of programmable hardware, HTML/CSS, any programming language, Google Analytics, marketing platforms, blogging and video production.


He/She should have a strong grasp of the technology industry and is skilled at visual storytelling and have a good eye for design.


He/She must be able to produce error free content with strong attention to details and to balance several projects and seamlessly contribute to multiple aspects of the organisation's science promotion efforts.


He/She should possess excellent communication skills, is an empathetic, resourceful team player and a fast and flexible learner who can stay informed about the ever-evolving world of STEM.
