Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk analysis and assess risk quality for insurance coverage, including pricing and related requirements
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities
  • Ensure adherence to company guidelines in Marine business underwriting
  • Undertake assigned roles relevant to reinsurance business
  • Research reinsurance market trends and contribute to business strategy development
  • Administer Marine business transactions meticulously, including follow-up activities and reporting
  • Offer advice on claims issues
  • Collaborate with teams to achieve company objectives
  • Perform desktop risk evaluations and gather necessary information from cedants/brokers
  • Calculate exposure costs and establish terms for long-term profitability
  • Evaluate and manage portfolio to improve outcomes and align with company's risk tolerance

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in insurance/reinsurance industry as a Marine Underwriter
  • Experience with regional responsibilities and strong market knowledge
  • Underwriting experience and market familiarity with Treaty Business are advantageous
  • ACII/FCII or equivalent qualifications would be beneficial
