Roles & Responsibilities

The position will be responsible coordinating regional statutory reporting requirements and assisting in preparing statutory filings for the legal entity Swiss Re Asia Limited. It is also anticipated that the position will also assist in the evaluation and preparation of group reserves and management unit reporting.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

· Supports quarterly review of P&C loss reserves for Swiss Re's Asian Operations

· Make recommendations to appropriate reserve committees and branch management

· Provide support to the Heads of Actuarial & Reserving in the region for actuarial matters as necessary

· Provides support for each branch including providing written reports for regulatory returns (e.g. Liability Valuation Reports, ICAAP, stress testing)

· Provides significant support to the Appointed Actuary of Swiss Re Asia in the provision of written reports for regulatory returns (e.g. Liability Valuation Reports, ICAAP, stress testing)

· Support other areas of the company including Finance and Planning

· Support discussions with underwriting in relation to reserving feedback loops and other product analysis

· Develop and maintain relationships with local actuarial and industry associations

· Work with regulators and internal/external auditors on routine and special matters

· Work on other projects as assigned including participating in internal underwriting audits

· Participate in industry related committees representing Swiss Re

Position Requirements:

· 5 years+ experience in a Property & Casualty environment including at least 2 years in P&C reinsurance environment.

· Actuarial valuation and reporting experience for a Reinsurer.

· University degree in actuarial science or related field (mathematics or finance)

· Very good understanding of actuarial, accounting, information systems and investments.

· Knowledge of statutory, regulatory and insurance accounting environments in Singapore. Knowledge of other Asian environments would be viewed favourably.

· Independent self-starter

· Strong practical capabilities in Microsoft Office and other business software applications. Data analytics programming skills (R, Python) a significant advantage.

· Accomplished interpersonal and communication skills – demonstrates a clear and articulate standard of written and verbal communication in a complex environment

· Proactive in seeking out and providing information

· Actively looks to add value and take on additional responsibility

· Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks accordingly

· Asian language skills considered an advantage
