Rolls-Royce Power Systems, based in Friedrichshafen, Germany, with approximately 9,000 employees, focuses on high-speed engines and propulsion systems under the mtu brand. They cater to various industries such as shipbuilding, power generation, land vehicles, and the oil and gas sector. Additionally, they produce diesel and gas systems, battery containers for critical applications, and solutions for combined heat and power generation and microgrids.

Key Accountabilities:

General

  • Manage all mechanical aspects of technical solutions for major Data Center Projects in APAC.
  • Handle the full scope from initiation to onsite delivery of mechanical systems related to diesel genset enclosures.

Tendering Matters

  • Collaborate with sales to define the technical scope (mechanical).
  • Review and clarify customer specifications and tender documents.
  • Provide technical specifications and define supply scopes.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to harmonize supply scopes.
  • Collaborate with suppliers/contractors for equipment quotes and timely proposals.

Solution Engineering Matters

  • Define mechanical system requirements for walk-in genset enclosures.
  • Prepare design, drawings, and documents based on customer needs.
  • Utilize engineering tools and databases for solution engineering work.
  • Maintain product and solution engineering information.

Order Execution

  • Verify technical documents to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Finalize equipment scope and specifications and procure internally.
  • Support the execution team in resolving technical issues during project execution.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide insights to enhance system performance.

Other Matters

  • Stay updated on technical advancements and internal products.
  • Travel for business purposes when necessary.
  • Handle special assignments occasionally.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the diesel engine/generator industry with a strong project delivery record.
  • Understanding of Cooling, Fuel, and Ventilation systems of diesel generators and their integration into designs.
  • Knowledge of engineering calculations for genset mechanical systems.
  • Ability to conceptualize and implement complex mechanical designs effectively.
  • Familiarity with data centers, switchgear, and electrical power protection is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Asian cultures and business practices.
  • Great team player with exceptional communication skills and collaborative mindset.
  • Willingness to travel for onsite projects, demonstrating flexibility and proactive attitude.
  • Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD software and English language.
