The role:

The Mobbin platform attracts thousands of new visitors each day. Every touchpoint inside and outside of our product presents an opportunity to activate, convert, retain and refer users.

We are hiring a software engineer to join our Growth Team. The Growth Team is responsible for optimising key metrics for the company, such as acquisition, retention, engagement, and monetisation.


As a software engineer in the Growth Team at Mobbin, you will be responsible for discussing and executing growth strategies.

Whilst bulk of the work is front-end heavy, you'll also work with the back-end and database to implement business logic, write APIs and integrate with 3rd-party tools.

You will also need to write SQL-flavoured queries to answer data questions.


Our Engineering Department, whilst small, provides the technological capability that turn our ideas into software that drives global impact at scale.

What you'll do
:

  • Focus 75% on frontend and 25% on backend.
  • Design and write highquality and reliable code, including writing tests and documentation with close to no supervision.
  • Discuss, design and implement experiments to test various growth hypotheses.
  • Define success metrics, gather data, track events, analyse data and form insights to inform key decisions. You will be writing SQLflavoured queries to answer questions.
  • Work closely with team members of other domains (for example: product designer or growth marketer) to steer product and engineering decisions whilst balancing engineering and business needs.
  • Work across teams to find alignment and balance tradeoffs. Clearly propose and articulate your technical decisions and the tradeoffs incurred.
  • Identify areas of codebase or infrastructure that can use improvements and execute on suggestions for better developer experience, performance, or otherwise.
  • Perpetuate a healthy software engineering culture through code reviews, sharing, or otherwise.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members in best practices and technical skills.

You should
:

  • Be passionate about UI & UX design.
  • Be familiar with software engineering best practices and be able to write clean code with mínimal supervision.
  • Be highly proficient and have strong interest in web development and React.
  • Be highly proficient in SQL.
  • Have moderate experience working with BigQuery, Redshift, or their likes.
  • Be able to communicate effectively and have good written communication skills.
  • Have a strong desire to make foundational codebase improvements.
  • Have strong computer science fundamentals.
  • Have at least 1 year professional experience of building userfacing production web apps in React
