SCOPE OVERVIEW

  • Drive the development of sound portfolio management practices within EIPL.
  • Oversee the management of fixed income and cash for internally managed portfolios.
  • Evaluate the risks and opportunities for the portfolios, giving due consideration for market conditions, ESG, portfolio constraints, hedging, assetliability management, liquidity, regulatory capital and accounting treatment.
  • Oversee portfolios managed by external fund managers to ensure their performance and risks are aligned with the company objectives, limits and needs
  • Management of tactical asset allocation (TAA) and investment benchmarks for various assets/portfolios.
  • Contribute investment ideas and working closely with product and actuarial teams for insurance product development.
  • Stakeholder engagement and management reporting.
  • Assist Head, Investment in other areas of managing EIPL's investment portfolio as and when required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in economics, finance, investment, mathematic, actuarial sciences, statistics, accounting, engineering or any other related qualification.
  • At least 10 years' experience in managing a portfolio of investments, preferably in an insurance company.

Experience managing a credit fixed income portfolio is a must
:

  • Relevant investment knowledge on assets as well as good understanding of liabilities and regulatory impacts (eg RBC2, IFRS)
  • Knowledge of investment requirements of insurance products
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Application
  • Excellent presentation, communication and written ability
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Strong aptitude for financial and research analysis
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Meticulous in numbers
