Data Management Manager

Responsibilities

  • Responsible to coach and develop team members to achieve team and company goals as well as individual performance standards. Ensure team members are motivated, performing to high standards and continually developing their potential.
  • Responsible to lead the team in the delivery of accurate information for financial reporting, valuation, and experience analysis:
  • Liaising with marketing teams as well as with clients to ensure data received is correct and treaty and compliance requirements are met.
  • Loading, processing and validation of client data in PLRe systems to facilitate the generation and verification of technical accounting and provision of cleansed data.
  • Working closely with Finance providing Statement of Accounts for treaties and retrocessions and Corporate Actuarial teams to ensure the provision of accurate data for reporting and valuation.
  • Working closely with R&D team to ensure the provision of cleansed and validated data for experience analysis.
  • Prepare management information, any other reconciliations, internal or external reports as required
  • Responsible for ensuring the team's timely delivery of all aspects of the implementation and operationalisation of reinsurance contracts including but not limited to the following:
  • Reviewing treaty and addendum clauses and documenting product specifications.
  • Gather, consolidate and document stakeholder requirements for the transformation of client data to PLRe systems
  • Cleansing, analysing and validating incoming client policy and claims data
  • Prepare test plans and perform testing to ensure transformation of client's data is performed as per user requirements
  • Support development of PLRe systems and issues resolution, liaising with IT and other function as appropriate
  • Support periodic user acceptance tests / regression tests on PLRe Systems to verify the deployment of enhancements and changes
  • In carrying out duties, be in position to translate business terminology into user requirements that are adequate for digestion by Technology and SAP developers into technical language and vice versa.
  • Ensure effective yet proportionate controls are in place and appropriately monitored across all areas of our work and internal control documentation relevant to the Operations team reflects our processes, controls appropriately and these continue to be relevant.
  • Support any adhoc tasks including providing the necessary input and support to Operations, Technology Projects, including the review of requests from front office on set up of novel deals, product solutions in SAP.

Requirements

:

  • At least 8 years' working experience in (re)insurance industry, using (re)Insurance operations/administration systems with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Strong capability on MS Excel and SQL is essential.
  • Prior experience working with and analysing large volumes of data is essential.
  • Experience working in SAP Data Services is preferred.
  • Prior experience on requirement gathering in a Business Analyst capacity or involvement in project implementations is an added advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and willing to learn on the job, expand technical capability to understand company systems.
  • Has ability and desire to communicate with business customers at all levels across the business and to work well within a team environment.
