Job Description

In this position, you will be a member of the AI & Cloud Engineering (ACE) Division as part of the Product Management team. ACE is working on creating a comprehensive AI strategy to provide a flexible platform for exploring new Deep Learning / Machine Learning model architectures, along with high performance for production environments on various hardware architectures. This platform aims to enhance performance, developer efficiency, and deployment speed for both AI training and inference.

As a Product Manager at ACE, your main responsibilities will involve defining product strategy and designing product features for multiple AI software products for both internal and external clients. You will collaborate closely with the customer service team to gather requirements from current and potential customers. Subsequently, you will work with the Software Architect and multiple engineering teams within ACE to develop product features, establish a roadmap, and ensure timely and high-quality delivery. Additionally, you will liaise with Marketing and other cross-functional teams outside of ACE to ensure alignment with company standards. This role offers valuable experience in managing commercial-grade software products and contributing to the advancement of hardware software co-design for AI-specific challenges.

Our goal within the division is to leverage the latest AI and cloud technologies to enhance AI inference for self-driving vehicles and advanced driver safety systems. Renesas is a global leader in automotive electronics, presenting a unique opportunity to implement your AI software across the multitude of devices we distribute annually. You will be part of our newly established AI & Cloud Engineering team comprising approximately 100 software engineers. Due to the increasing demand for our AI-related products, we are planning significant growth in the next three years, providing ample opportunities for you to contribute to our team's expansion. Our current focus is on hiring for our offices in Tokyo, Beijing, and Singapore. If you are successful and reside outside of these locations, we are prepared to assist with your relocation based on team requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of the customer experience, recognize product gaps, generate innovative ideas to increase market share, enhance customer experience, and drive growth.
  • Foster support for the product vision internally and with key external partners.
  • Translate product strategy into specific requirements and prototypes.
  • Prioritize activities based on business and customer impacts.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure quick time-to-market and efficient resource allocation.
  • Lead product launches, collaborating with public relations, executives, and other members of the product management team.
  • Act as a product advocate to raise awareness and promote comprehension.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, machine learning, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, or related field. An MBA degree is considered a plus.
  • Prior experience in software engineering with strong programming skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of managing all aspects of a successful product lifecycle.
  • Proven ability to formulate product and marketing strategies.
  • Solid technical background with practical experience in software development and cloud technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude towards accomplishing tasks.
  • Proficient in collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams within a matrix organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in SaaS and/or PaaS.
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, etc.
  • Understanding of System-on-Chip technologies is a beneficial skill.
  • Ability to communicate proficiently in English in a business setting.
