What the role is

  • You will work on implementation, operational and opspolicy matters in relation to enforcement of maintenance orders in the Maintenance Enforcement Division ("MED"). The MED is a division under the Insolvency and Public Trustee's Office ("IPTO"), and works closely with the Civil & Legislative Policy Division ("CLPD"), which oversees the policy matters for the workstream.

What you will be working on

  • As this is a new division, your responsibilities in the MED in the initial phase include:
a) Establishing frameworks and Standard operating Procedures to facilitate an effective maintenance enforcement process;
b) Working on, and introducing subsidiary legislation;
c) Overseeing the development of IT systems and other administrative matters; and
d) Recruitment and training of new hires, as required.
Upon implementation of the new maintenance enforcement process, your responsibilities in the MED will transit to the following:
a) Managing your own cases relating to the enforcement of maintenance orders. You will conduct fact-finding and conciliation, and write reports regarding your findings. You will also oversee the team regarding their case management;
b) Reviewing frameworks and Standard Operating Procedures to ensure that the maintenance enforcement process remains effective; and
c) Enhancement of the IT systems and other administrative matters.

c) [Leveraging on technology]: Keep up to date on technological trends relevant to my work in enforcement, and adopt relevant technology-enabled solutions to address current and future enforcement challenges.

e) [Litigation support]: Prepare or supervise and monitor the preparation of high quality and accurate court papers to be submitted to the Court within required timeline.
*Personal traits/Work Experience*a) Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
b) Be able to do front-line work with members of public
c) Have a keen interest in the development of policies and operational work
d) Be meticulous and capable of collecting and evaluation complex or multifaceted information
e) Prior experience in human resources, finance, development/management of IT systems, legal drafting, mediation, accounting, or family law practice will be an advantage, but is not a pre-requisite for the role
f) Ability to speak local languages/dialects will be an advantage
