Understanding the Role of a Developmental Therapist

Here at Connect and Communicate, we strive to empower children with unique learning styles, valuing neurodiversity and leveraging both weaknesses and strengths. Through close collaboration with parents and caregivers, we guide children towards embracing their differences in a positive light. Our approach goes beyond behavior management and skill teaching; we focus on fostering holistic development to cultivate more competent and well-rounded individuals. As Developmental Therapists, our mission is to enhance children's functional, social, emotional, cognitive, and communicative skills. By engaging with a child's interests and expanding their developmental capacities in each interaction, we aim to uncover their potential and nurture growth.

  • Offer consultations at homes and schools as needed
  • Maintain clear communication with clients and ensure updated documentation
  • Participate in a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive and integrated care for children
  • Receive regular supervision and engage in clinical knowledge sharing
  • Contribute to organizational development by leveraging leadership opportunities aligned with individual strengths and interests

Minimum Requirements:

  • Hold a recognized degree in Psychology, Early Childhood, or Special Education
  • Preferably have 1-2 years of relevant experience; fresh graduates are also welcome
  • Proficiency in a local second language is a plus
  • Appreciate working with diverse individuals and believe in their capabilities
  • Value the involvement of caregivers in the developmental process
  • Embrace reflective practices to enhance service delivery
  • Demonstrate a strong desire for continuous learning and innovation
  • Available to work from Tuesdays to Saturdays
