Job Description

The support specialist plays a crucial role as a techno-functional team member within the Enterprise Datawarehouse (EDW) support team under IT BAU. They are tasked with ensuring system availability and timely deliverables for datamarts serving various business units such as Finance, regulatory, and Campaign.

In addition, as the go-to analyst expert within the IT team, the support specialist collaborates closely with teams including Tech Infra, application services, solutioning, projects, and business units in the bank. Their responsibilities involve resolving user-reported issues, conducting impact analysis on projects/enhancements affecting the EDW, and ensuring seamless coordination among stakeholders.

Roles/Responsibilities

  • Provide Business-As-Usual (BAU) support for the Enterprise Datawarehouse
  • Ensure operational support and maintain Service Level Indicators (SLI) for system availability and batch deliverables
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from various business units
  • Offer timely updates on production status and issue resolution progress
  • Optimize applications and systems for enhanced performance and increased throughput
  • Review technical and functional solutions to ensure compliance with IT standards
  • Conduct impact analysis on projects/enhancements affecting supported systems
  • Identify root causes of problems, propose solutions, and adhere to SLAs
  • Assist with software/platform/database upgrades
  • Collaborate with delivery teams for smooth transitions
  • Handle incident, problem, and service outage management
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity drills
  • Monitor server performance, capacity, utilization, and health
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to drive outcomes independently

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in banking/financial services
  • Proficiency in Teradata FSLDM and data mapping
  • Strong skills in SQL, UNIX, and Teradata tools
  • Experience in designing fault-tolerant data pipelines for Batch processing
  • Knowledge of GL Data reconciliation, datamarts, and ledger balance reporting
  • Expertise in Performance Tuning for Teradata or similar MPP data pipelines
  • Familiarity with Hadoop tools such as Hive, Hue, Spark, and Kafka is a plus
