The Opportunity

The central element of work for this role is to drive and support the corporate communications of SGX-listed Jardine Cycle & Carriage (JC&C). This role reports to the Head of JC&C Communications & Investor Relations.

This role is an exciting opportunity for someone building a career in communications and seeking to stretch his/her capabilities to gain an exposure in financial communications for a listed company and further extend the experience to sustainability.

The Communications Team and Job Responsibilities

The JC&C Communications team is a key central resource for JC&C, working closely with the C-Suite to fulfil the communications needs at the Group level. It is an award-winning team with accolades received in corporate communications and financial reporting.


• The Communications function has oversight as well as drives and executes corporate communications strategies at the Group level. The team is responsible for all external communications and owned platforms. The role also extends to media relations, stakeholder issues management, leadership and internal communications, and corporate events. Responsibilities include:

  • Profiling JC&C to different targeted audiences by identifying and featuring stories from the group businesses across Southeast Asia
  • Overseeing and maintaining the corporate website and social media channels such as LinkedIn
  • Developing corporate presentations, leadership communications materials and speeches
  • Drafting press releases, managing media relations and responding to queries
  • Coordinating internal communication and initiatives within the organisation
  • Coordinating video production and photography
  • Supporting other ad-hoc projects from time to time
  • The Communications team leads financial communications for JC&C and is responsible for the annual report, communications materials for results announcements and analyst briefings. It also supports the Group Finance Director on investor relations, as well as the Group Director, Business Development on deal communications strategies for transactions and corporate actions. Responsibilities include writing and editing the annual report, results related materials, and updating fact sheets and investor presentations.
  • ESG is a growing area of focus and strategic importance for JC&C, and the Communications team serves on JC&C's Sustainability Committee that designs ESG strategies at the Group level. This role has the opportunity of being part of the core team that shapes JC&C's sustainability pathway. Responsibilities include annual sustainability reporting and ESG-related materials. It is also responsible for the communications of Jardine Matheson's mental health charity, MINDSET.
  • The Cycle & Carriage brand is a registered trademark of JC&C, and the Communications team is the custodian of the brand. It has oversight of and provides guidance on strategic communications, brand execution, media relations and issues management to the Cycle & Carriage businesses across the region. Key communications and branding decisions at the country level are consulted for and made at JC&C.
Job Requirements

The Candidate

  • Graduate from a recognised university
  • Knowledgeable in communications, with 3 to 5 years' related experience
  • Outstanding ability to draft and edit content to tailor messages to different audiences and platforms. A flair for creative writing is a plus.
  • Solid ability in project management
  • Organised, with a keen attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills
  • Strong media relations and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential issues
  • Confident, resourceful, proactive and collaborative, with the ability to work independently and with people of different functions and management levels
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and digital tools . Experience with web and design software and video productions is a plus.
