ExxonMobil in Singapore

ExxonMobil stands as one of the biggest foreign manufacturing investors in Singapore, with significant fixed asset investments. Our operations in Singapore include a large refining and petrochemical complex in Jurong and Jurong Island, a network of Esso service stations, a lubricant plant, and a supplier of cylinder cooking gas. We cater to customers and commercial markets in the region with a range of fuels, lubricants, petrochemicals, and LNG.

Singapore serves as the Asia Pacific hub for some of our key operations, and we have a workforce of approximately 3,500 individuals covering various roles in operations, projects, commercial activities, corporate support functions, and more.

What you will do

  • Provide support to Lab supervisors and chemists by conducting routine and non-routine laboratory analyses, focusing on water/aromatics products and in-process samples to ensure quality control. This involves performing calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of testing equipment and maintaining accurate records.
  • Contribute to maintaining the safety and quality standards of the Lab to align with business objectives.
  • Be vigilant in identifying and addressing safety issues within the Lab environment, promoting a culture of safety.
  • Enhance and sustain expertise in Lab testing procedures, instrument calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Actively participate in site emergency responses as required.
  • Execute assigned tasks in accordance with Lab standards and procedures, ensuring compliance with company and industry quality standards.
  • Take ownership of personal safety and the safety of others within the assigned work area.
  • Engage in safety meetings, conduct field checks within designated areas, and take corrective actions to maintain safe working conditions.
  • Participate in incident investigations, offering solutions to prevent recurrences, and be prepared for emergency drills.
  • Demonstrate accountability and uphold housekeeping standards in the assigned work area.

About you

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of GCE "O" level qualification, preferably with a Polytechnic diploma.
  • Team player with a proactive attitude, eager to learn, responsible, adaptable, effective communicator, and possess good organizational and planning skills.
  • Interest in lab equipment calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • No prior work experience required, though relevant experience would be beneficial.
