Role Summary


The Hydraulic Modeler for Water Distribution Networks plays a crucial role in our client's team in Singapore, dedicated to enhancing digital twin systems and driving digital transformation for Water Utilities in Asia.


Reporting to the Project Manager for a drinking water network digital twin project in Singapore, the Hydraulic Modeler oversees the hydraulic models used in real-time operations.

They are also the main contact for system users, offering support and collecting feedback for enhancements.


The Hydraulic Modeler works independently but receives active support from senior modeling experts at our client, who provide guidance and assistance in solving complex issues.


Main Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the data scientist to prepare and validate data for model construction and calibration (asset information, sensor data).
  • Develop and refine hydraulic models to align with network structure and calibrate them to meet client requirements.
  • Contribute to defining and validating model calibration KPIs with the client, including the automated health monitoring module of the digital twin system.
  • Produce model building and calibration reports, along with necessary drawings.
  • Act as the primary liaison with the client regarding the hydraulic model and updates, fostering professional relationships and ensuring result delivery.
  • Support the Project Manager in tracking progress, evaluating outcomes, and addressing constraints.
  • Aid in generating deliverables (interim and final reports, progress reports) and ensure timely submission.
  • Conduct training sessions for users as needed.
  • Uphold high HSE standards in task planning and execution.
  • Perform additional tasks within the job scope as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master's degree in water management/hydraulic systems or equivalent field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of overall experience.
  • At least 3 years of involvement in significant water supply projects in urban areas.
  • Proficient in hydraulic modeling activities, particularly in EPANET.
  • Familiarity with temporary measurement tools on water networks (Bonus).
  • General understanding of water utilities assets and operations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all organizational levels.
  • Effective multitasking and deadline management abilities.
  • Demonstrated capacity to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Positive, reliable, and dedicated to meeting project deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills, including client interaction.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Hardworking, disciplined, enthusiastic, and dynamic.
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Mandarin, Malay, or Tamil for stakeholder engagement (Bonus).
