Purpose of Job

SFA is the national authority that ensures and secures a supply of safe food for

Singapore. The officer will be part of a dynamic team working with a group of officers under the Licensing Division.

The Division oversees the licensing and registration of all food businesses in Singapore and issues permits for specific food and food-related items.

Duties

  • Review and formulation of licensing regime for emerging business models
  • Review and harmonisation of Standard Operating Procedures and work processes across departments
  • Formulate and upkeep the licensing Business Continuity Plans
  • Carry out data analytics in trending of licensees for food businesses for early
interventions of potential operational gaps

  • Develop training materials to build and enhance capability and knowledge spectrum of licensing officers
  • Provide support to the technical representative of the Food Standards working
groups and Codex Committees

  • Assist in the development of the various digitalisation projects to enhance and
support licensing functions

  • Assist in the engagement with external stakeholders when formulating reviews
related to licensing

Requirements:

  • Degree in Food Science/Food Technology or Sciencerelated discipline
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good IT knowledge and analytical power
  • Able to work as a team
  • Able to engage and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
