Focus of the Role
As a Senior Risk Analyst, working in the first line, you play a pivotal role in ensuring all business-related risks are known and managed effectively at Telstra.
You leverage your specialist and pragmatic risk management, audit and assurance knowledge and collaboration skills to effectively partner with the business to action, advise and provide support enabling strategic, operational, financial, and compliance objectives to be met.
Your ability to effectively project manage and navigate a large and complex enterprise environment will see you thrive in this role.
Telstra International significant presence across Asia requires a deep knowledge of potential geo-political risk and risks associated with operating in existing and new markets across Asia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage deep experience in Telecommunications/IT industry risk management with strong interpersonal skills to deliver a complex program of work aimed at improving and enhancing the effectiveness of risk management practices at Telstra International.
- Provide input into the design and implementation of an overall operational risk management process for Telstra International, ensure the effective delivery of Risk and Compliance projects, lead the management and mediation of risk and issues.
- Authentically engage and collaborate with a range of internal stakeholders to help distil complex problems into simple and manageable actions that result in optimal business outcomes, effectively influencing others on the importance of understanding and adopting Risk and Compliance matters (frameworks, standards, protocols etc.) to ensure a robust and pragmatic implementation of Telstra Group's Risk Management Framework.
- Gather relevant sources of information to conduct analysis and prepare insights, contribute to the monitoring of long term/macroeconomic geopolitical trends and assess opportunities, exceptions and threats to the team's risk management and compliance performance, making recommendations to ensure risks are managed effectively.
- Contribute to overseeing and maintaining operational risk systems, processes, approaches and guidance documents to ensure the integrity of data is maintained to demonstrate effective consideration and management of risks across Telstra.
- Deep knowledge of risks associated with the Telecommunications/IT industry across the Asian region allowing for performance of efficient risk assessment of business opportuntites
- Passionate about sustainability and forward thinking about the emerging risks of sustainability issues to our business across the Asian region.
- Recognised as an expert in risk management, serving as a trusted business partner and a key point of contact at Telstra, establishing positive working relationships with key stakeholders in the business to help t drive the effective management of risks within the business.
Who we look for:
- Minimum of at least 5 years' Telco experience in Risk Management role
- Experience conducting Risk Assessment and creating Risk Acceptance Documents
- Strong Stakeholder Management skills
- Strong understanding of Geopolitical risks on operating globally
- Able to work on the ground as first line risk manager
- Open to work in a hybrid model
