Based in the Department of Student Services, this position calls for a team player who has passion, personality and professional skills to enable youths with special educational needs (SEN) to achieve their potential.


Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support for students with special needs, which may include emotional difficulties
  • Facilitate access arrangements by developing support plans, together with academic staff, in curriculum development and classroom management
  • Conduct and coordinate training for students and staff to address transitional needs from preadmission to internship and also postgraduation
  • Pilot and implement initiatives and student activities to promote inclusion
  • Provide other student support services in accordance to institutional strategic initiatives
  • Perform administrative duties to support multiple initiatives and outreach

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification in special education, psychology, social work, or related disciplines
  • Passion in working with young persons with diverse needs
  • Relevant experience in integrating Universal Design in Learning (UDL) in classroom setting would be an advantage
  • Relevant experience in conducting training to adults and youths would be an advantage
  • Ability to remain calm and work under stressful situations
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team setting
  • Excellent communication and administrative skills, both in speaking and writing

This will be a project-based appointment and successful appointee will be placed on contract.
