Specific Responsibilities

  • Provide a conducive classroom environment for effective learning
  • Teach the curriculum efficiently
  • Manage diverse student groups with varying learning styles and backgrounds
  • Customize content to meet individual learning needs
  • Set and maintain high learning expectations for all students
  • Assess student progress regularly and accurately
  • Adjust goals and strategies to meet student needs
  • Keep updated records of student progress, attendance, and classroom materials
  • Engage parents and students through consistent communication
  • Collaborate with colleagues in planning, curriculum development, and other activities
  • Stay current with educational practices through professional development
  • Utilize technology to enhance instruction
  • Engage students in extracurricular activities for extended learning experiences

Other Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with administration to enhance instructional skills
  • Adhere to school policies and model 'Core Values'
  • Work closely with the Principal on assigned tasks and school goals

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a valid teaching credential
  • Certification in special education
  • Extensive experience in teaching students with diverse learning needs
  • Proficiency in implementing teaching strategies and interventions
  • Knowledge of early literacy, numeracy skills, and executive function skills
  • Experience in data-driven decision-making and progress monitoring
  • Familiarity with Response to Intervention (RTI) framework
  • Proficient in collaborating within Professional Learning Communities
  • Understanding of current instructional strategies and materials
  • Confidence in teaching all students regardless of learning needs
  • Knowledge of American curricula and Common Core State Standards
  • Exemplify SAS Core Values in daily interactions
