Singapore Art Museum opened in 1996 as the first art museum in Singapore.

Also known as SAM, we present contemporary art from a Southeast Asian perspective for artists, art lovers and the art curious in multiple venues across the island, including a new venue in the historic port area of Tanjong Pagar.


SAM is building one of the world's most important public collections of Southeast Asian contemporary art, with the aim of connecting the art and the artists to the public and future generations through exhibitions and programmes.

SAM is working towards a humane and sustainable future by committing to responsible practices within its processes.

DESIGNATION :
Manager / Senior Manager, Public Art

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cultivate and develop partnerships for public art projects and comanage stakeholders.
  • Plan and implement outreach and engagement strategies
  • Oversee budget management and marketing and communication activities across all projects within the department.
  • Lead and ensure project realisation in collaboration with various SAM departments, external stakeholders and partners, in adherence to project expectations.

This include but is not limited to:
Monitoring progress, managing project risks to ensure that the project is delivered on time, within scope and budget. Secretariat duties, where applicable

  • Codevelop and support projectspecific public programmes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least five to eight years of relevant work experience in the field of the arts in a project management and content creation role, with proven track record in fostering partnerships across a variety of sectors and disciplines.
  • A team player with excellent work ethic who is wellorganised and who has managed several projects involving large teams simultaneously.
  • Selfdirected learner and problem solver who exhibits maturity and presence of mind in remaining productive under deadline pressures.
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English, as well as excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Fluency in other official languages of Singapore and/or local dialects is an advantage.
  • Some curatorial experience is a plus.
  • Cultural sensitivity and empathy for diverse communities.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
  • Availability to work on evenings, weekends and public holidays
