Assistant Manager, Patient and Public Engagement LKCMedicine

NTU's Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is a prominent medical institution dedicated to cutting-edge medical research and education. The Office of Patient Engagement (OPEN) is a newly established unit focused on enhancing LKCMedicine's relationships with patients and the public in the realm of medical research and education. Join our vibrant team to integrate Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) into the school's initiatives and cultivate connections with patient advocates, patient organizations, and various stakeholders in the patient engagement ecosystem.
Join us as the Assistant Manager of Patient and Public Engagement, and be instrumental in advancing patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE) within the medical research and education domain. Your role will involve forging robust partnerships with patients, patient organizations, researchers, and educators, as well as orchestrating events to enhance capabilities. We seek an energetic individual with a keen interest in patient and community engagement, who thrives on improving healthcare through meaningful interactions and possesses exceptional communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee designated PPIE projects in research and education, establishing relationships with stakeholders, offering PPIE assistance to the research/education team, preparing patients/public and researchers for engagement, and collaborating with the team to assess progress and impact.
- Engage with current and prospective patient advocates and patient/community organizations to participate in PPIE initiatives at the school.
- Coordinate PPIE meetings, workshops, and events.
- Manage and execute administrative systems and procedures to sustain PPIE within the school.
- Aid in producing communication materials (e.g., EDMs, newsletters, videos, social media content) related to the school's PPIE projects for outreach to patient advocates, patient/community organizations, and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Hold a degree from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 4 years of pertinent work experience.
- Background in health promotion, patient experience, communications and advocacy, outreach and partnership in healthcare, social care, or community care environments.
- Proficiency in organizing events and workshops is advantageous.
- Experience in Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) and collaboration with patient organizations is beneficial.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Competence in project management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds: researchers, clinicians, patients, and family caregivers.
- Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
- Resourceful with a proactive approach to driving change.
- Team player with a friendly demeanor and outgoing nature.
This role is a contracting position until 31 March 2027.
