As a caseworker at HOME's migrant non-domestic workers' helpdesk , you will organise, coordinate and assess case related matters of each beneficiary seeking help from HOME. The caseworker aims for overall client well-being by handling their cases, advocating for their needs while working closely with different stakeholders (Govt bodies, Partner NGOs, hospitals, social agencies etc) and organising services.
**Job Scope
**As a caseworker for migrant non-domestic workers' helpdesk, your job scope would typically include:
Conducting assessments:
You will need to conduct thorough assessments of each client's needs, such as legal assistance, healthcare, and employment. Conduct intake interviews to understand their needs and raise up their issues with the relevant authorities. Monitor cases and provide necessary assistance while the case is being processed.
Coordinating services:
You will need to coordinate with various service providers, internal and external such as the authorities, healthcare providers, legal aid organisations, and social services agencies, to ensure that the clients receive the necessary services.
Monitoring progress and reporting requirements:
You will need to regularly monitor the progress of each client's case, keep the beneficiaries updated on their case progress and work closely with different stakeholders internal and external till a resolution.
You may need to work with other HOME's staff to provide necessary narratives, reports and data as and when required.
Documentation:
You will need to keep detailed records of each migrant worker's case in HOME's database, progress, and services provided, and ensure that all documentation is accurate and up to date.
Advocacy:
You may need to work closely with HOME's Research and Advocacy Manager to advocate for the rights and well-being of the migrant workers.
Volunteer Management
You may be required to assist with volunteer management. You would need to engage with new volunteers and guide them on how to go about doing casework
Helpline Management
You will ensure that all calls and messages are attended to for clients who are reaching out to HOME, and provide advice accordingly.
Communication:
Must have excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with clients, service providers, and other stakeholders involved in a case.
Critical thinking:
Must be able to assess complex situations, analyse information, and make sound judgments about the best course of action.
Empathy:
Must have the ability to understand and empathise with their clients' situations, as well as be culturally sensitive and aware.
Organisation:
Must be highly organised and able to manage and prioritise multiple cases and tasks simultaneously.
Problem-solving:Must be able to foresee, identify and solve problems that arise throughout the case management process.
Advocacy:
Must be strong advocates for their clients and able to effectively represent their interests.
Interpersonal skills:
Must be able to build strong relationships with clients, service providers, and other stakeholders involved in a case.
Knowledge of services:
Must have a comprehensive understanding of available services and resources for their clients.
Technology proficiency:
Should be comfortable with technology to be able to use databases, and communication tools.
Flexibility:
Must be able to adapt to changing situations and be flexible in their approach to case management.
**Qualifications: A bachelor's degree from an accredited university preferably in Social work
Ability to speak Bengali and English.
**Salary Offered
SGD per month with other standard entitlements per employment contract
The position may require you to work on certain weekends and public holidays.
You would be required to carry HOME's helpline (weekdays/weekends/public holidays) based on your arrangement with the casework manager.
Role reports to the Casework Manager on a day to day basis. Starting Date - April 15th 2023
