The Ramadan Group-Singapore - Join Our Team

Welcome to the Ramadan Group-Singapore, a dynamic research team based at LKCMedicine/NTU. Under the leadership of Prof Kristijan Ramadan, known for establishing the esteemed The Ramadan Group-Oxford in the UK, we are on the lookout for a passionate, dedicated, and innovative senior research scientist.

In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting Prof Ramadan as he sets up his cutting-edge laboratory at LKCMedicine/NTU. Our primary focus revolves around uncovering novel druggable targets and biomarkers in the realms of genome stability and the ubiquitin system, leveraging technology-driven scientific breakthroughs. Ultimately, our goal is to translate these discoveries into potential cancer therapies and early diagnostic solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishing a functional basic science laboratory and facilitating knowledge transfer from The Ramadan Laboratory-Oxford to The Ramadan Laboratory-Singapore
  • Organizing laboratory data and resource management, assisting students and post-doctoral fellows with research endeavors
  • Conducting essential research experiments, spearheading individual projects, and supporting Prof Ramadan in various managerial and research tasks
  • Contributing to group management, data collection, grant writing, manuscript preparation, and educational activities

Key Competencies:

  • Proficiency in biomedical laboratory techniques, especially within genome stability and immune response domains (e.g., cell culture, gene cloning, protein chemistry, microscopy)
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of post-doctoral wet laboratory research experience, with at least one primary-authored publication in a reputable international scientific journal related to genome stability or cancer, complemented by multiple other publications
  • Skills: Cell culture, molecular cloning, gene editing (CRISPR/Cas9), basic biochemical and cell biology techniques, and a proactive approach to adopting new technologies
  • Competence: Demonstrated mastery of fundamental wet laboratory methodologies, with a track record of accomplishing research objectives in a competitive academic landscape
  • Essential Qualifications: A PhD in biomedical research
