Roles & Responsibilities

1. Conduct Eye Examinations:

Perform comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity, eye health, and detect abnormalities or diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, or macular degeneration.

2. Prescribe Corrective Lenses:

Determine refractive errors and prescribe appropriate eyeglasses or contact lenses to correct vision problems such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, or presbyopia.

3. Diagnose Eye Conditions:

Identify and diagnose various eye conditions and diseases through examination techniques such as tonometry, retinoscopy, and slit lamp biomicroscopy.

4. Manage Eye Diseases:

Provide management and treatment for eye diseases and conditions, including prescribing medications, recommending lifestyle changes, or referring patients to ophthalmologists for surgical intervention if necessary.

5. Educate Patients:

Educate patients about their eye conditions, treatment options, and proper eye care practices to promote eye health and prevent vision problems.

6. Monitor Patient Progress:

Follow up with patients to monitor the effectiveness of treatments, adjust prescriptions as needed, and ensure optimal eye health outcomes.

7. Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals:

Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure comprehensive treatment plans.

8. Clinic Operations

Execute smooth clinic operations, which includes registration, medication dispensing, etc., within the clinic premises and off-site at various locations where you may be deployed to.

Requirements

1. Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Optometry or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

2. Registered Optometrist with the Optometrists and Opticians Board (OOB) of Singapore.

3. Strong clinical skills and knowledge of eye anatomy, physiology, and pathology.

4. Strong team player.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

6. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a healthcare team.

7. Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.

8. Commitment to providing compassionate patient care and promoting eye health and wellness.

Working Hours

Monday – Friday: 9am – 6pm

Saturday or Sunday: 9am – 1pm
