Roles & Responsibilities

Job Overview:

Support the Site Manager in project coordination and supervision of specific tasks on site.

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Site Engineer's role includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • General
    • Oversee lifting operations on site.
    • Manage interactions with authorities, clients, and consultants.
  • Planning & Sequencing
    • Develop construction sequences for different work activities.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Identify technical challenges and obtain updates from the Design Department regarding any changes; communicate these changes to vendors, engineers, and supervisors.
    • Collaborate with the M&E Section to ensure seamless integration of M&E Services with building operations.
    • Assess subcontractors' risk assessments, safe work practices, and method statements.
    • Support Quantity Surveyors in measuring work progress.
    • Supervise and participate in works inspections conducted by Resident Engineers and/or Clerks of works.
    • Assist in implementing Quality Systems at the site.
    • Review daily vendor reports and ensure accurate recording of daily activities before circulation to the Project Director/Manager.
    • Maintain updated document control and site records in compliance with PQP standards.
    • Verify that all works meet the requirements of relevant authorities.
    • Address technical and engineering challenges.
  • Procurement, Contracts, VOs, EOTs
    • Verify compliance with contract documents, drawings, and specifications, ensuring proper implementation of variation orders for the Building Section with documented cost implications.
  • Safety
    • Ensure adherence to safety standards on site to meet IMS safe work practices.
    • Attend daily site coordination meetings and coordinate effectively with subcontractors.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Building or Engineering.
  • Experience in managing large-scale construction projects.

Desired Qualities:

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to lead subordinate Building personnel.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Thorough technical understanding of current construction methodologies.
  • Proficient in general construction practices and building/structural details; interpretation of working drawings.
  • Familiarity with MS, Primavera, and other software for construction scheduling.
  • Effective time management with keen attention to detail and task management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to swiftly analyze and resolve complex issues, proposing solutions promptly.
