Background


We are looking for a fighter who is keen to disrupt the retail industry and is willing to compete against the odds.

He/ she is responsible for implementing an omni-channel eCommerce strategy and technology, with an eye on growing our business into an eCosystem.

Where opportunities arise, he/ she must work with the business teams to integrate with other eCosystems within and outside of the industry.

He/ she also believes in data and is keen to put in place a data structure for the company that allows data to be used for decision making in every aspect of the business.

He/ she must be obsessed in adapting the most interesting and innovative digital solutions to support the company's strategic initiatives.

He/she will be responsible for providing the organization with detailed analysis of market trends in technology.

Role and Responsibilities:

Work closely with Chief Executive and Executive team to develop and execute the overall corporate strategy

Strategy

  • Develop the Company's digital and technology strategy, vision and roadmap to support go to market initiatives and product or function specific accountabilities in key areas such as eCommerce, mobile app, ecosystem, data analytics and corporate functions e.g. finance, logistics;
  • Stay current with technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, product development and product management best practices;
  • Identify technology trends that may support or impede the business;
  • Promotes the use of new technologies and techniques internally;

eCommerce

  • Direct development and execution of an omnichannel eCommerce platform that is at the core of the Company's business;
  • Continual enhancements of the eCommerce platform to ensure it leads the industry;
  • Direct development and execution of an information security plan that protects the confidentiality, integrity and availability of our core systems;
  • Direct development and execution of a disaster and business continuity plan to minimize service disruptions;
  • Source and implement relevant tools or web changes to support Internet marketing and SEO;
  • Establish a web analytics regime that measures performance to goals;
  • Build and manage the product development, web ops, data analytics as well as IT teams that supports enterprise wide initiatives;
  • Monitor extension of credits and receivable collections to minimize credit exposure.

Project Management

  • Program governance and status reporting, risk and issue management;
  • Work crossfunctionally to ensure program can be delivered as planned within resources allocated.

Corporate Function

  • Support IT needs of the business in areas such as logistics, finance, HR, purchasing, and customer servicing;

Data Analytics

  • Build and manage a team of data analysts to implement a data architecture with the relevant tools to support the usage of data to aid decision making in every aspect of our business;

Management

  • Act and think as a leader. He/she will align the department's values while inspiring confidence and generating excitement, enthusiasm and commitment towards the mission;
  • Develop & maintain policies and procedures appropriate to a modern, peoplecentric, high performance culture that attracts, retains and motivates top quality personnel;
  • Recruit, train, appraise, supervise, support, develop, promote and guide qualified personnel;
  • Manage staff & workload to ensure that the department operates at maximum efficiency within deadlines;
  • Provide effective coaching, training and motivation;
  • Ensure succession planning in place;
  • Carry out other duties or special projects as assigned by the Chief Executive.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing external vendors to design and implement eCommerce and enterprise IT solutions;
  • Experienced in webbased, portal deployments and custom 3rd party interface techniques;
  • Experienced in Agile development projects;
  • Expertise working with Amazon Web Services;
  • Expertise in Adobe Experience Cloud
  • Expertise in Magento
  • Project management experience & third party management experience;
  • Ability to see the business through technical innovation;
  • Ideally, experience in a start up or near start up context. The individual should bring senior executive/leadership experience but without having lost the will or ability to "roll up the sleeves" and do real work;
  • Innovative and strong sense of commitment and adaptive to change;
  • Experienced and comfortable working in resource constrained, highly costconscious environment that requires staff to feel and act as owners, not employees;
  • Fluent written, spoken and reading capability in English, and basic written, spoken and reading capability in Mandarin is preferred;
