DevOps Specialist - System Automation Specialist at Company X

Project: Asynchronous Data Exchange (ADEX)

Scope of work:

  • Setup development and production environment for the project
  • Establish scalable and maintainable systems and components
  • Manage network, routing, and load balancers
  • Handle cloud infrastructure including servers, storage, networks, and databases
  • Provision virtual machines, databases, application software, and cloud services
  • Develop automation scripts for system builds and releases
  • Plan system work and address any issues or instabilities
  • Perform software patching, upgrades, and troubleshoot system issues
  • Harden software and systems
  • Collaborate with the team for successful project delivery
  • Build monitoring and logging system
  • Ensure end-to-end system delivery with other teams
  • Ensure reliability and compliance with government policies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT/Computer Science/Computer Engineering or relevant field
  • 3+ years of hands-on DevOps experience
  • Experience with Ubuntu, RHEL, and Windows environments
  • Experience with automation tools like Terraform, Ansible
  • Experience with open-source ecosystems, Kubernetes clusters
  • Experience in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud hosting
  • Delivered projects using agile methodology
  • Skills in troubleshooting cloud services, scripting, and system monitoring
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines, databases like MongoDB, Postgres

Preferably:

  • Linux administrator certifications
  • Experience with Golang, Nodejs, Solace PubSub+, RabbitMQ
  • Experience in ELK, Splunk, SIEM, software and system security
  • Skills in firewalls, proxies, network intrusion detection systems
  • Knowledge of software-defined network and infrastructures
  • Programming ability and cloud platform certifications/experience

You need to bring to the team:

  • Network design and security configurations
  • Infrastructure monitoring and infra as code abilities
  • Experience in agile methodologies, DevOps pipelines, and info-security practices
  • Team collaboration, problem-solving, innovative thinking
  • Certifications/experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
