What you'll be doing:

  • Oversee the claims responsibilities for the Client:
    • Lead in claims management and make decisions on claim settlements
    • Handle claims from registration to completion
    • Assign adjusters/lawyers, collaborate closely with them and other stakeholders during claims management
    • Reserve bookings and organize claim/fees payments
    • Update claims system and spreadsheet
    • Ensure claims comply with policy terms and conditions
    • Provide reports to Finance managers as per monthly requirements
  • Ensure all claims are handled promptly and in line with agreed protocols/guidelines
  • Ensure timely payments and collection of RI recoveries
  • Prepare and issue necessary documents and invoices, if needed
  • Provide reports to the Client, suggest claim settlements and management strategies, and foster a strong relationship with the Client
  • Execute other tasks like managing captives as directed by the Manager

Skills and experience needed for success:

  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in the insurance sector
  • Experience and understanding of general insurance, particularly beneficial to have liability claims knowledge
  • Possession of professional insurance qualifications, e.g. ACII or ANZIIF
  • Effective communication skills to engage with clients, third parties, and colleagues
  • Capability to meet tight deadlines for reporting
  • Collaborative team player to support the wider client service team
  • Drive to consistently enhance role efficiencies and processes
