The aim of the Business Development and Partnership teams is to provide Shopee's buyers with a wide variety of product listings at the best prices.


About the Team:

  • The Business Development and Partnerships teams at Shopee are dynamic and energetic. The Retail merchandiser team is in charge of driving topline performance of assigned suppliers within Shopee Supermarket including Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) and profit.

Reporting to the Merchandiser Lead, this role is expected to work closely with other retail sub-teams including the supplier acquisition team and marketing team to drive strategic and tactical initiatives to strive for business growth and profitability.

This role offers great exposure for highly motivated individuals who are looking to work in a fast-paced environment and generate real-time impact on business performance, Profit and Loss (PnL) while honing their client management and negotiation skills.

- Drive business growth (GMV and orders) and financial returns of assigned accounts/brands

  • Responsible for buying, merchandising, and inventory planning of goods for assigned accounts
  • Negotiate for best pricing, front and back margin from suppliers
  • Plan quarterly inventory buying plan based on product new launch and BAU sales.
  • Manage black stock to ensure we maintain a healthy stock level
  • Negotiate with the brand to get sufficient stock for popular models, and lower purchase quantity to hit purchase incentives
  • Prepare product new launches according to the brand's global launch calendar
  • Working with the RM team to define pricing strategy, based on cost and back margin supported by the brand
  • Manage and maintain content products in online stores
  • Identify and implement process improvements and opportunities for innovation in merchandising and sales
  • Coordinate crossfunctional teams, and communicate with internal and external parties while meeting deadlines
  • Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed goals

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Business Management, and 3 years in business development, account management, merchandising or related field within the ecommerce or retail industry is a plus
  • Good at numbers, can use data driven approaches to make business decisions
  • A strong entrepreneurial spirit, with high attention to detail and a proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
  • Highly motivated and ability to adapt to changes in a dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about customer behavior
